The training programme will be supported by the following activities:
The wide range of training opportunities outlined above is designed to ensure that the training needs of each doctoral student and post-doctoral researcher are met. The summer schools and workshops will provide general information relating to the project and also technical support whilst the individual training programmes will provide specific support which is tailored to a particular research project. Participation to summer schools and workshops will not be restricted to the researchers belonging to the network. They will be announced and advertised to ensure the largest level of participation possible, e.g. in the activity page.
Every single researcher will be followed by a tutor, who will
Up-to-date information and valuable insight into specific aspects of the proposal will be provided in the form of several intensive courses given by leading experts in these areas. In most cases, these courses will be incorporated into pre-existing graduate programmes of the host universities of the relevant research units.
The network will organise 3 summer schools which will focus on
Each team will contribute to the school, both via the teaching activities, and by sending students to participate in the school. Leading experts exterior to the network may be invited to the summer schools to ensure that everyone is familar with recent developments within the research field. Part of the summer school will be devoted to short communications presented by the young scientists on the progresses made on their research.
General workshops will involve all the members of the network. The network will organize
Both doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers will be encouraged to visit other teams for short or medium periods of time. This will enable them to take advantage of the specific expertise of different teams and to acquire knowledge in these areas. It can be anticipated that each young researcher financed by the European Community will spend at least 1/3 of his/her time of appointment in such exchange programmes.
The researchers will take part actively to internal seminars and will be asked periodically to update on the state of advancement of their work. They will also present their work at the summer schools, multidisciplinary workshops, and bilateral meetings organised by the network. They will be encouraged to participate in international workshops and conferences at which they will present results of their research activity.
