The School and the Workshop will take place at
Aim of the School.
The School is mainly aimed to Phd students and young researchers
in Algebraic Geometry, introducing the participants to research,
beginning from a basic level with a view towards the applications and
to the most recent results.
L. Manivel. Actions of
algebraic groups on algebraic varieties. Prehomogeneous spaces,
relations with gradings of Lie algebras, elements of classification.
Applications to birational geometry. Relations with homogeneous spaces
and their isotropy representations. The Tits-Freudenthal magic
square.
G. Ottaviani.
Invariants of forms. Classical examples. The two fundamental theorems.
Connections with Young tableaux. Computational tricks. Invariants of
ordered points on the line as a graphical algebra. Connections with
quivers and their invariants.
