| Laurea degree in Mathematics from the University of Pisa and Scuola Normale Superiore in 1986, PhD in Mathematics from the University of Groningen in 1991. In the period 1991-1998 he has been an assistant professor at the Scuola Normale Superiore. Since 1998 he has been with the Politecnico di Torino where he is currently Full Professor of Mathematical Analysis. In the period 1992-1998, he has spent several months at LIDS-MIT as visiting scientist and visiting professor. | ||
| His research activities are on the fundamental mathematical aspects of Systems and Control theory and of Coding theory on which he is author of about 40 papers on international journals. Specific themes of current interest are: cooperative inferential algorithms over networks, consensus dynamics; opinion dynamics models; serial concatenations of convolutional codes, weight enumerators, distances and asymptotics. | ||
| His current teaching activities are: fundamental undegraduate courses in Mathematical Analysis, graduate courses in discrete mathematics, coding and information theory. He serves as director of the graduate program in applied mathematics of the Politecnico di Torino. |
