TEAM

SHORT DESCRIPTION

Davide Ambrosi
Sergey Astanin
Ida Bonzani
Elena De Angelis
Marcello Delitala
Luigi Graziano
Lamberto Rondoni

The research activity of the team refers to the qualitative and computational analysis of nonlinear dynamical systems with attention to their applications in technology and biology. The main research topics are kinetic models for cellular interactions, continuum models for migration and pattern formation of cells, influence of the mechanics in growth of cell clusters, traffic and crowd dynamics. Other active research areas are multiphase flow, porous media, non-Newtonian fluids. Inter-disciplinar collaborations are activated between the team and research centers in biology and medicine. Among others, we mention the Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment, Candiolo (Italy), namely Prof. Federico Bussolino, and the Molecular Biotechnology Center, University of Turin, Turin (Italy), namely Prof. Guido Forni. The team collaborates strongly with several other teams of an European Network including France, England, Scotland, Poland, Sweden, Germany, Spain and Israel: MCRTN - 6th Framework Programme on Research, Technological Development and Demonstration- European Commission - "Modeling, Mathematical Methods and Computer Simulation of Tumour Growth and Therapy ", 2004-2008
